Consultant - Family Medicine and Clinical Coordinator

Dr. Linda Mary Thorpe a Family Medicine Consultant at Columbia Africa in Nairobi, is highly passionate about providing evidence based cost effective care to all patients. A highly qualified doctor she completed her MBBS, Diploma Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (DRCOG), and Diploma of Family Planning (DFFP) from UK. She has also received Certificate of Prescribed Experience from Joint Committee on Post Graduate Training for General Practice, UK. She has strived to maintain a very strong doctor patient relationship at all times in her 17 years long career with her arduous efforts and dedication. Before joining Columbia Africa, she shouldered the responsibilities of the Head of the Family Medicine Centre at Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH), Nairobi, where she has been working since December 2006. She also worked as a Clinical Assistant Professor in Family Medicine at Aga Khan University Hospital for over a year and possesses an extensive academic experience too. She has attended several short term courses, workshops and CMEs, further adding on to her plethora of knowledge. She has been honoured with invitations to give talks on various topics to different groups of the general public, including a breakfast TV show. She is an active social worker and has volunteered as a physician to help in Free health days held for the Jamati Community (Cardiovascular screening and Osteoporosis) and the AKUH (Breast screening day).
