Paediatrics is a medical specialty that manages medical conditions affecting babies, children and young people. It is primarily concerned with the physical, emotional and social health of children from birth to young adulthood.
The specialists at our centre are embodied with the above qualities and are involved with the all-round care of the child (prevention of diseases, early detection of problems and management of behavioural, developmental & functional social problems of the child concerned) with support of the child’s parents and family.
The doctors also deal with the biological, social, and environmental influences on the developing child as well as the impact of disease or dysfunction on development. They also interact with the parents or the guardian to define the health status of the child and to educate and provide anticipatory guidance about the child’s normal health and growth. Therefore, they often have to treat the parents and sometimes, the family, rather than just the child.
